Inhibitory Mechanism of Gastric Motility in Cat by Acetylcholine, McN-A-343 and AHR-602

Abstract
Acetylcholine McN-A-343 and AHR-602 produced transitory inhibition of gastric movementsof cats anesthetized with chloralose. The inhibitory response to these agents was prevented by atropine but not byhexamethonium. Regitine blocked and bretylium reduced the inhibitory response. Inreserpine-pretreated cats these agents produced an incomplete relaxation or motor response. In conclusion, the inhibitory response to these agents seems to be elicited via stimulation of the ¡°atropine-sensitive sites¡± in the sympathetic ganglia.
